Revealing the robbery of the teacher wife of the BJP leader, the police has arrested 6 accused including two women. The stolen jewellery, cash, mobile and Eco car with fake number plate have been recovered from the possession of the accused. The accused used to cheat people by seating their family in the Eco car. The police has sent all the accused to jail.

On Saturday, SP Amit Kumar Anand, while revealing the incident in the police auditorium, said that on March 9, Reshu Gupta, the teacher wife of BJP leader and advocate Surmit Kumar Gupta, resident of Hasanpur, and her two daughters became victims of this gang. The accused made them sit in the Eco van and fraudulently stole gold jewellery and cash from their bag. After this, they left them near the petrol pump and fled. The police started the investigation by registering a case. The SOG and surveillance team saw the footage of more than 450 CCTV cameras.

On Saturday, the police arrested Rinku, Akil son of Sheeshpal, Vikas alias Meenu son of Ghani, Mila wife of Vikas, Sweta wife of Sandeep and goldsmith Lalit Verma who took the jewellery from Gajraula Tiraha. The 5 accused who were caught are from Jogipura in Hapur. Goldsmith Lalit Verma is a resident of Meerut. The SP said that all the accused who were caught are cunning criminals. Cases are already registered against them. The police have recovered jewellery worth about 5 lakh rupees, five thousand rupees, mobiles and the Eco car used in the incident from the possession of the accused. Two accused are still absconding. The SP also gave a reward of 25 thousand rupees to the team that revealed the incident. The SP said that all the accused have been sent to jail.

They used to travel as a family and carry out the incident
The arrested accused work as a gang. All the people are related to each other. SP Amit Anand said that this gang carries out the incident by travelling as a family. Men, women and children were involved in it. These people used to make the passersby sit in the car by luring them to drop them to their destination. As there were women, no one suspected them. After this, they used to steal the passengers’ bags from under the modified seat of the car. The gang members sitting behind used to take out the valuables from the bags. They used to sell the stolen jewellery to goldsmith Lalit Verma.
