Uttarakhand: Director General of Information organized a meeting of the committee of Journalist Welfare Fund and Chief Minister Journalist Samman Pension Scheme

A meeting of the committee of Journalist Welfare Fund and Chief Minister Journalist Samman Pension Scheme was held in the Directorate of Information under the chairmanship of the Director General. A total of 11 cases of Journalist Welfare Fund were considered in the meeting and the committee unanimously recommended financial assistance of Rs. 30 lakhs for 06 eligible cases. Under these cases, the committee has also recommended financial assistance to the family of late Manjul Singh Majila, a journalist who died last month.
The Director General informed that in the meeting, it has been decided to give a chance to those cases whose records were found incomplete and get the applications completed from the District Information Officers of the concerned district and present them in the next meeting. And a total of 01 case was placed before the committee under the Chief Minister Journalist Samman Pension Scheme, on which the committee decided to present it in the next meeting due to lack of necessary records. The final approval of the committee’s decision will be done by the Chairman of the Committee / Honorable Chief Minister.
In the meeting, non-official members of Journalist Welfare Fund Committee, journalist representative B.D. Sharma, Dr. D.D. Mittal, Ms. Nisha Rastogi, Mr. Dinesh Joshi along with Additional Director of Information Department, Mr. Ashish Kumar Tripathi and Joint Director, Mr. K.S. Chauhan were present.
