‘China did not hack Indian Army’s plane’, Army rejects claim being made on social media

The Indian Army has rejected claims made in a social media post that an Army Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) was “hacked” by China. The Army has appealed to media houses and social media users to refrain from publishing “unconfirmed” and “misleading” content.

Army’s clarification:
Recently a social media post claimed that an Indian Army RPA had “strayed” into Chinese territory and was “hacked” by Chinese hackers. On this, Army sources clarified that this claim is completely baseless and factually incorrect. He said, no such incident has taken place. Army sources said that the Indian Army is fully committed to the security and operational integrity of all its assets.

Appeal to avoid misinformation:
The Army appealed to media houses and social media users to avoid broadcasting “unverified and misleading” news, as it may spread “unnecessary fear and misinformation”.
