BJP has launched Saugat-e-Modi campaign on Tuesday for Eid. Under this campaign, 32 lakh deprived Muslims across the country are being given a special kit to celebrate Eid, named Saugat-e-Modi Kit. BJP’s Minority Front has taken the responsibility of this campaign of gifts to be given to Muslims. 32 thousand workers of the front will deliver these kits to needy Muslims together in 32 thousand mosques of the country. For this, a target has been set to help about 100 deprived Muslims from every mosque. This campaign of BJP has started from 25 March 2025 and it started from Ghalib Academy in New Delhi.

What is in the Saugat-e-Modi kit

The ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ kit will include essential items for Eid. For example – vermicelli, dates, dry fruits, gram flour, ghee-dalda and suit clothes for women. Apart from this, there may also be some other essential items in the kit, which are useful during the festival. According to the information, the Saugat-e-Modi kit contains clothes and food items. It includes suits for women, kurta-pyjama for men, pulses, rice, vermicelli, mustard oil, sugar, clothes, dry fruits, dates. The price of each kit is said to be around ₹ 500-₹ 600. The BJP says that this scheme will not only provide assistance, but will also help the Muslim community to get out of the influence of ‘a few brokers and contractors’.

Opposition took a jibe

The BJP has started the ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ campaign and there has been a lot of criticism about this initiative of the BJP. Opposition parties have reacted sharply. Samajwadi Party MP Afzal Ansari said, ‘Muslims don’t want gifts, they just want justice.’ Meanwhile, RJD leader and MLA Bhai Virendra said, BJP’s announcement is nothing but an attempt to woo Muslims before the elections.
