TB eradication program, Uttarakhand honored at national level in Delhi

Uttarakhand has performed excellently under the TB elimination program. That is why Uttarakhand has also been honored. In a ceremony organized at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, the Union Health Minister honored Uttarakhand NHM Mission Director Swati Bhadoria.

Uttarakhand was given the National Award for outstanding performance in TB elimination through community-based efforts in the “TB Free Panchayat Initiative” under TB elimination at a ceremony organized in Delhi on the occasion of World Tuberculosis (TB) Day. This prestigious award was given by Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda to Swati S. Bhadoria, Mission Director of National Health Mission (NHM) Uttarakhand.

Uttarakhand honored at national level: This achievement of Uttarakhand has boosted the morale of the state health department and health workers working at the grassroots level. This initiative will prove to be an important milestone in achieving the goal of TB elimination in future.

Mission Director Swati S. Bhadoria said that the TB elimination program is being successfully conducted under the guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat. As a result of this, the Ministry of Health, Government of India honoured Uttarakhand at the national level.

The Mission Director expressed happiness over this honour and said that this achievement is the result of joint efforts of the State Government, Health Department, local administration, ASHA workers, Panchayati Raj institutions, social workers and the community.

He said that under the “TB Free Panchayat Initiative”, special efforts have been made to ensure widespread awareness, quick identification, better treatment and community participation at the grassroots level. An effective tracking system and multi-sectoral approach are being adopted for TB elimination in the state.
