A dispute broke out in Bilari police station area of Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. People of two communities clashed with each other over the loud sound of kirtan in Bahadurpur village. During this, sticks and stones were thrown, in which many people were injured. As soon as the information was received, the police station and senior officers reached the spot. The police admitted the injured to the hospital and started investigating the matter.
According to the police, a case has been registered against 16 named people and some unidentified persons on the complaint of the victim side. The women of the village allege that they were doing kirtan, when some people of the other community tried to stop them. When the matter escalated, they were stoned and attacked. Many people were injured due to this.
The dispute started with an animal entering the mosque
However, SP Rural Kunwar Akash Singh said that the root of the dispute started with an animal entering the mosque on Monday evening. After this, there was an altercation between the two sides, which later turned into a violent clash. The tension increased further over the sound of kirtan. The police heard the complaints of both the parties and started taking action on the basis of the complaint.
An atmosphere of tension prevails in the entire area
After the incident, there is an atmosphere of tension in the area. The police have deployed additional forces in the village so that the situation remains under control. The injured are being treated in the district hospital and their condition is said to be stable. The police say that the matter is being thoroughly investigated and strict action will be taken against the culprits. This incident once again highlights the communal tension, to calm which the administration is now making every possible effort.
