On March 25, Manas Yadav, son of Veer Singh Yadav, a native of Rajasthan, gave a complaint to the police regarding the matter. Manas had told that he is a BA LLB student in UPES College and lives in a rented flat in Power and Banking Society Paunda. Late night on March 24, he was standing on the balcony of his flat with his friends, during this time, youths who came in different vehicles got down from the vehicles near his flat, abused him and fired at him with the intention of killing him.
Police arrested the youths
Manas told that after firing, the youths also damaged the car parked near his flat and fled from the spot. On the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case against the youths and started searching for the accused. The police checked the footage of CCTV cameras installed on the roads around the incident spot. The police arrested two accused involved in the incident, Manasvi Farsi alias Shibu Pandit and Harivansh Magluria son Manoj Gupta, on Wednesday late night on the way from Kondoli to Bidoli.
The crime was committed due to a dispute in the past
During interrogation, the accused told that he is originally from Jammu and is currently a B.Com second year student in UPES. Earlier, Manas had a dispute with his friend Krish over something. After which Manas and his friends beat him up. Due to this dispute, he along with his friends fired at Manas late on the night of 24 March to teach Manas a lesson. The police also recovered 1 country-made pistol, 1 live cartridge from the possession of the accused.
