Uttarakhand: Preparations for Haridwar Ardh Kumbh 2027 accelerated, DGP held a meeting, instructed police officers to prepare an action plan

Ardh Kumbh is to be organized in the year 2027 in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand, for which the government, administration and police have already started preparations. DGP Deepam Seth held a meeting with police officials on Tuesday 25 March regarding the preparations for Ardh Kumbh. In the meeting, he instructed the officials to prepare an action plan for Ardh Kumbh.

In the meeting, SSP Haridwar was instructed to start the process of forming a core team for the upcoming Kumbh Mela-2027 from now on. For this, a list of potential members of the team should be prepared and made available on time, so that the core team can be formed in the stipulated period and they can be deployed in Haridwar district. Along with this, instructions have been given to demand additional central security forces to make security arrangements.

The DGP asked all the police units to prepare their detailed action plans by inspecting them on time. The traffic branch was instructed to prepare a complete traffic plan, the communication department to prepare a communication plan, the fire service to prepare a fire safety plan, the training department to prepare a training plan related to Kumbh, the personnel department to prepare a manpower management plan and the modernization department to prepare a construction plan.

Along with this, the SDRF, bomb disposal team and water police were also instructed to assess their preparations and make a detailed plan, so that Kumbh Mela 2027 can be made safe, well-organized and successful. Along with other plans for the Kumbh Mela, instructions were also given to prepare a smooth and simple plan for the railways on time.

Kumbh Mela 2027 is a grand event, in which a large number of devotees are expected to come. In view of this, instructions were also given to increase the number of CCTV cameras and use drones and modern surveillance equipment while preparing a security plan to monitor the entire fair area.

DGP gave instructions in the meeting:

  1. The fair control room should be equipped with all the necessary resources and there should be regular exchange of information by establishing continuous coordination with the districts of the bordering states, so that the safety of the devotees can be ensured in the fair.
  2. To make the arrangements of Kumbh Mela better and safer, the necessary construction works should be pre-assessed.
  3. The arrival and exit points of all the bathing ghats should be clearly marked and instructions were given to prepare an emergency evacuation plan to deal with any emergency situation.
  4. Special swimming training will be provided to the police force to make the safety of the devotees and disaster management more effective.

Uttarakhand Police is fully committed to the safety and convenience of the devotees during the Kumbh Mela. We will make Kumbh Mela 2027 smooth and safe through modern technology and better management. The police force will discharge its responsibility with full readiness and sensitivity.
