In the case of burning of notes at Justice Yashwant Verma’s house, Delhi Police has seized the mobile phones of 8 policemen including SHO of Tughlaq Road police station. Phones of SHO of Tughlaq Road police station Umesh Malik, investigating officer Havildar Roopchand, Sub Inspector Rajneesh, two policemen from the police station who reached the spot on mobile bike patrolling and three PCR personnel have been seized. The mobile phones of the policemen have been seized and sent for forensic investigation.
Why were the mobiles seized?
Actually, now efforts are being made to find out whether any video was made from the mobile phones of these policemen when they reached the spot during the fire or not and if the video was made, then was it tampered with in any way. Apart from this, Delhi Police has also recorded the statements of all these policemen. Let us tell you that the fire was so intense that it can be guessed from the fact that the walls of the room in which the fire broke out have developed cracks.
Justice Yashwant Verma consulted lawyers
Meanwhile, Justice Yashwant Verma consulted four senior lawyers at his residence in Delhi. A three-member committee formed by the Supreme Court is investigating the cash scandal and Justice Verma has to present his explanation before that committee.
Police sealed the store room
Meanwhile, Delhi Police has sealed the store room where four to five sacks of half-burnt notes were recovered after the fire. Now a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court in this case demanding registration of FIR against Justice Yashwant Verma. CJI Justice Sanjeev Khanna refused to hear the petition of Advocate Mathews immediately and asked Mathews to contact the registry of the Supreme Court.
