Uttarakhand / Dehradun: Parents’ anger erupted against fee hike, protested fiercely at the school gate

The fee hike in private schools before the start of the session is causing trouble for the parents. On Thursday, parents protested against the fee hike at Ann Mary School located at Balliwala Chowk. During this, there was a jam on the road for some time. The parents alleged that the school management has arbitrarily increased the fees, which has increased the financial burden on them.

The parents gathered at the main gate of the school at around 10:30 in the morning. The parents not only raised slogans against the fee hike, but also demanded the withdrawal of the decision. After a discussion with the school administration for about an hour, the parents staged a dharna in the school premises till about 3:30 pm. Taking cognizance of the matter, the District Magistrate sent Municipal Education Officer Hemlata Gaur to the spot. The parents submitted a memorandum to her. The parents said that the District Magistrate talked to them over the phone and asked them to submit the demands in writing. On Friday, the parents will submit a memorandum to the District Magistrate.

A lot of work has been done keeping in mind the facilities of the students so that the students get better and quality education. The talk of arbitrary increase in fees is completely wrong. Some people are making this an issue for their political gains. Our entire focus is on the facilities of the students and the convenience of their parents.
