The information of the robbery of Rs 35 lakh given this morning in Akashdeep Colony of Kotwali Mangalore area turned out to be fake. Police has taken action against the accused under the Police Act for giving false information.

Misled the police by giving false information of robbery
The incident happened on Thursday. Mangalore police had received information that a theft has taken place in a house in Akashdeep Enclave Phase 2. On receiving the information, the Inspector in-charge of Mangalore Kotwali reached the spot with his team. The team informed the Field Unit Haridwar about the robbery. After which the team of the field unit also reached the spot. A team was formed under the leadership of Sub Inspector Veerpal Singh to search for the accused. The team started searching for the criminals by checking the CCTV cameras installed around the incident site.

Police taught a lesson
The investigation team did not find any movement on the road leading to the incident site. Due to which the police suspected the complainant. Along with this, the contradiction in the statements of the complainant from time to time deepened the suspicion of the police. Police investigation revealed that the informer had given false information to the police with the intention of misleading due to family differences. When the truth came out, the police have filed a challan under the Police Act for giving false information.
