Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and BJP MP from Haridwar Lok Sabha seat Trivendra Singh Rawat is raising all the problems of the state in the House during the budget session these days. Yesterday, MP Trivendra Singh Rawat raised the issue related to avalanche and disaster management in Uttarakhand. At the same time, today MP Trivendra Singh Rawat has expressed his concern over the continuous illegal mining in Uttarakhand.
Mining Secretary’s reply to Trivendra’s allegations of illegal mining
Former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat put the Dhami government in the dock by expressing concern over illegal mining in Uttarakhand in Parliament. Trivendra said in the Lok Sabha that in Uttarakhand, rivers are being cut by illegal mining with the connivance of the administration. Uttarakhand Mining Secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant has responded to Trivendra’s allegations.
Uttarakhand Mining Secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant said that- ‘Since the formation of the state, from 2002 to 2025, the state never received revenue of Rs 200 crore from mining. But by curbing illegal mining, the state has achieved this target in the financial year 2023-24.’
The answer of the mining secretary is being considered as the government’s answer
The statement given by the state’s mining secretary on the basis of data on the question raised by BJP MP Trivendra Singh Rawat regarding mining in the Lok Sabha is being considered as a befitting reply of the state government to the BJP MP. Actually, the mining secretary has given the figures of the time of the Dhami government. With this, an attempt has been made to tell that revenue of 200 crores was never achieved during the 4-year tenure of Trivendra Singh Rawat.
Trivendra Rawat had said this in Parliament
Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and currently BJP MP from Haridwar seat Trivendra Singh Rawat had said in Parliament that- I want to draw your attention to a very sensitive and serious issue today. The subject is related to illegal mining trucks operating illegally at night in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts of Uttarakhand. This is not only becoming an issue for the environment and law and order, but is also seriously affecting the safety of the public. Despite clear instructions from the state government and administration, mining mafias are openly operating illegal trucks. Heavy overloading is done in these trucks. Mining material is transported without any valid permission. Due to these illegal activities, the roads and bridges of the state are being damaged a lot. In such a situation, the government should immediately pay attention to this serious problem.

Congress grabbed the allegation
While Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat raised the issue of illegal mining in Uttarakhand in the Lok Sabha, the state Congress immediately grabbed the matter. In a hurry, Congress state president Karan Mahara shared Trivendra’s statement in Parliament through social media. Sharing Trivendra’s Parliament video, he wrote – Former Chief Minister is raising the issue of mining in Parliament. The matter reached the Parliament, but the state government has put cotton in its ears and has tied a blindfold over its eyes.
