Students will not be able to appear in the examination in the state universities and colleges of the state with less than 75 percent attendance. The government has issued an order in this regard. This system will come into effect from April 1, 2025.
Higher Education Secretary Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha said in the order issued, it has come to the notice of the government that the attendance of students in state colleges and private universities affiliated to state universities is continuously decreasing. Which is a matter of concern. Regarding the attendance of students in higher educational institutions, there is a provision from the University Grants Commission that 75 percent attendance is mandatory to appear in the examination.
It has also been said in the order that facilities like classrooms, furniture, toilets etc. should be provided in the colleges. At the same time, it will be mandatory for every teacher to keep a separate attendance register for their classes. They will have to upload the attendance of every day in the Samarth portal.
The teacher will have to download the GPS camera app in the mobile and take photographs of the students while teaching. Which will have to be kept by making a folder in the computer. The order states that all professors will compulsorily upload the photo taken from their mobile on the class room module of Samarth portal every day.
