Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and current MP Trivendra Singh Rawat had raised the issue of rampant illegal mining in the state in Parliament a day earlier. After which now the head of the state himself has reacted in this whole matter.

CM Dhami reacted on the allegations of illegal mining

After the allegations of illegal mining in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given his reaction in this matter. Chief Minister Dhami said that the state government is working with a zero tolerance policy against illegal mining in the state.

Trivendra Rawat had raised the issue of illegal mining in Parliament

BJP MP Trivendra Singh Rawat had expressed concern in Parliament over the rampant illegal mining in Uttarakhand. He had said in the Lok Sabha that ‘I want to draw your attention to a very sensitive and serious issue today. The subject is related to illegal mining trucks operating illegally at night in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts of Uttarakhand’.

Trivendra Rawat had said that despite the clear instructions of the government and the administration, the mining mafia is openly operating illegal trucks. Heavy overloading is done in these trucks. Minings are transported without any valid permission. Due to these illegal activities, the roads and bridges of the state are being damaged a lot.

BJP MP Trivendra Singh Rawat had urged the central and state government to form a special task force to stop illegal mining. It was also said that there should be a complete ban on the operation of trucks at night and it should be strictly monitored.

Mining Secretary had replied to the MP

After his statement in Parliament, Mining Secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant had said that since the formation of the state, from 2002 to 2025, the state of Uttarakhand never received a revenue of Rs 200 crore from mining. But by curbing illegal mining, the state has achieved this target in the financial year 2023-24. Which he described as an achievement of the government.

MP used abusive language for the officer

MP Trivendra Singh Rawat has used indecent language on the reaction of Mining Secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant. In a conversation with a private channel, MP Trivendra said that ‘lions never hunt dogs’. The former Chief Minister has used the word dog for the officers. After his reply, the atmosphere in Uttarakhand is heated.
