Uttarakhand: Opposition demanded the removal of Lachhiwala toll plaza, protested and warned of a fierce agitation

Congressmen demonstrated at the toll plaza demanding the transfer of Lacchiwala toll plaza to another place. Congressmen including former Chief Minister Harish Rawat and people from Dehradun, Doiwala, Rishikesh and Haridwar also protested by staging a sit-in.

The protesters say that accidents happen every day at Lacchiwala toll plaza. For which the protesters have held the state government and administration responsible. The opposition says that the toll plaza has been built by ignoring the standards. The protesters warned that if the toll plaza is not removed from here soon, the movement will be intensified.

Memorandum submitted to the Union Transport Minister
The protesters, while demonstrating against the state and central government, termed Lacchiwala toll as a toll of accidents. After the sit-in, the protesters have also submitted a memorandum to the Union Transport Minister through the Doiwala sub-district magistrate.
