On Monday, in various parts of Dehradun, there were reports of a large number of people suddenly falling ill after eating buckwheat flour. After which all were admitted to the hospital for treatment. In the preliminary investigation, it was found that all these victims have consumed buckwheat flour. After eating which their health deteriorated. Let us tell you that adulterated buckwheat flour is being sold in 30 shops of Dehradun. Out of these, three shop operators have been arrested by the police.
Buckwheat flour was distributed in three stores of Dehradun
As soon as the information about people suddenly falling ill was received, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself reached the hospital to know the condition of the victims. Also, he instructed the officials to take strict action against the culprits. In the investigation, the police found out that the suspected buckwheat flour was brought from Saharanpur district of UP. Which was mainly supplied by Lakshmi Trading Store of Vikasnagar. Let us tell you that this flour was ground in Vikas Goyal’s mill. After which it was distributed to many stores in Dehradun.
Three shopkeepers arrested
The police took immediate action and seized the flour from the suspicious shops and furthered the investigation. Investigation revealed that this flour was being sold by Sheeshpal Chauhan (Laxmi Trading), Vikas Goyal (Saharanpur) and Govind Sahay Shankar Lal (Basant Vihar, Dehradun). The police have arrested three accused, while the main accused Vikas Goyal (mill owner), resident near Jama Masjid, Saharanpur is absconding. The police is conducting raids in search of him.
