Uttarkashi police is running a campaign against drug smugglers. Police has arrested a smuggler with smack worth nine lakhs and sent him behind bars.

A smuggler arrested with smack worth nine lakhs

Police is running a campaign against drugs in the district. Police had received information from an informer that drug smugglers are planning to smuggle smack in large quantities. On the information, police conducted an intensive checking campaign. During the checking, police arrested a smuggler from the road going to Dilsaud, Manera bypass of Uttarkashi.

31.13 grams of smack recovered

The accused has been identified as Deepak Baliyan (38), son of Tejpal, currently a resident of Dehradun. The accused was originally from Uttar Pradesh. Police has recovered 31.13 grams of smack from the accused. During interrogation, the accused told that he used to work in a call center, during which he came in contact with smack sellers.
