Uttarakhand should be renamed as Uttar Pradesh-2, Akhilesh takes a dig at name change politics, Harda calls it a drama of BJP

The Dhami government of Uttarakhand took a big decision on Monday, March 31 and changed the names of many places. While some people welcomed this decision of the Dhami government, the opposition has also taunted in its own style. In this matter, former UP Chief Minister and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has also reacted.

In fact, when Akhilesh Yadav was questioned about changing the names of many places in Uttarakhand, he taunted and said that Uttarakhand should also be renamed Uttar Pradesh-2. Repeating his statement again, Akhilesh Yadav also said that the name of Uttarakhand should be linked to Uttar Pradesh.

Apart from Akhilesh Yadav, senior Congress leader and former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat has also reacted to the change of names of places.

We are neither in favor of it nor against it. I just want to tell here that changing the name has become the agenda of BJP. Because BJP has nothing to show for real work. The last eight years of this government have been a complete failure. When the public questions the BJP government about their failure, they are pretending to change the names to divert attention.

An area should be named after such great men who have contributed to that area. All names should be in accordance with Devbhoomi. In such a situation, the names have been announced in accordance with the suggestions received from the people.

• Aurangzebpur in Haridwar district has been renamed Shivaji Nagar.
• Gaziwali has been renamed Aryanagar.
• Chandpur will be known as Jyotiba Phule Nagar.
• Mohammadpur Jat will be renamed Mohanpur Jat.
• Khanpur Kursali will be renamed Ambedkar Nagar.
• Idrishpur will be renamed as Nandpur.
• Khanpur will be renamed as Shri Krishnapur.
• Akbarpur Fazalpur will be renamed as Vijaynagar.
• Asafnagar will be renamed as Devnarayan Nagar.
• Salempur Rajputana will be renamed as Shursen Nagar.

Names changed in Dehradun too:

• Mianwala has been renamed as Ramjiwala.
• Peerwala will be renamed as Kesarinagar.
• Chandpur Khurd will be renamed as Prithviraj Nagar.
• Abdullahpur will be renamed as Dakshanagar.

Names changed in Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar too:

• Nawabi Road in Haldwani has been renamed as Atal Marg.
• Panchakki to ITI Road will be renamed as Guru Gowalkar Marg.
• Nagar Panchayat Sultanpur Patti in Udham Singh Nagar will be renamed as Kaushalyapuri.
