Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams said, the poor Muslims will get their rights from the Waqf Amendment Bill of the Central Government. Changes in the Act will bring good days for them. The Chairman of the Waqf Board said, the purpose of the Waqf Amendment Bill is to improve the management and administration of Waqf properties in the country, the Waqf Act 1995 regulates the management of donated properties of Muslims. The central government is going to make changes in the Act in favor of poor Muslims.
There are 5388 Waqf properties in the state
There are 5388 Waqf properties in the state. The maximum 1930 properties are in Haridwar district. While 1721 Waqf properties are in Dehradun district. Apart from this, there are Waqf properties in Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Nainital, Pithoragarh etc. districts.

Aukaf, graveyard, mosque, dargah and mazaar, madrasa, mausoleum, Eidgah, agricultural land, Imambara and Karbala, Takiya, Musafir Khana, school, Hujra, house, shop etc. are included. At the same time, some people have occupied Waqf properties worth crores.
