Uttarakhand: Chief Minister gave instructions to District Magistrates: Special attention should be given to improvement in public services, repair of roads, drinking water supply and forest fire control

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami held a virtual meeting with all the district officials from the Chief Minister’s residence on Monday, in which the CM gave special attention to public service delivery in their districts, making the roads pothole-free, maintaining drinking water supply and effective control over forest fire. The Chief Minister said that regular campaigns should be run against encroachment. Regular sampling of food items should be done in the districts. The work of river dredging and cleaning of drains should be completed before the rains. Regular Janta Darbar, Tehsil Diwas, BDC meetings should be organized to resolve public grievances soon and regular multipurpose camps should be set up at the block level. Response time should be minimized for effective control over forest fire.
The Chief Minister said that all arrangements should be ensured in view of the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. Control rooms should be kept fully active in all the districts connected to the Yatra route. Special attention should be paid to well-organized traffic plan and basic facilities of the devotees during the journey. The District Magistrate should also do on-site inspection of regular routes. It should be ensured that all roads in all districts are pothole-free within 15 days. District Magistrates should identify the main problems of their districts and form a team of officers of the concerned departments to resolve them and ensure that the problems are resolved as soon as possible.
The Chief Minister directed the District Magistrates to take immediate action for the transfer of personnel posted at one place for more than 3 years. In view of the summer season, arrangements should be made for smooth supply of drinking water in the districts, full arrangements for drinking water tankers should be made if required. All arrangements should be ensured in advance to keep the power supply smooth. To ensure that the general public gets full benefit of various public welfare schemes of the Central and State Government, along with wide publicity of the schemes, all eligible people should be given the benefit of the schemes.
Additional Chief Secretary Shri R.K. Sudhanshu, Secretary Shri Shailesh Bagoli, Garhwal Commissioner Shri Vinay Shankar Pandey, Additional Director General of Police Shri A.P. Anshuman, Vice Chairman MDDA Shri Banshidhar Tiwari, Kumaon Commissioner Shri Deepak Rawat and all District Magistrates were present in the meeting through virtual medium.
