In the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, an important step was taken towards promoting Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) technology in Uttarakhand at the Secretariat on Monday. On the occasion, a presentation based on MRTS technology in the state was given by M/s Hess Green Mobility.
Electric Rapid Transit will run in the city soon
During the meeting, an MoU was signed between Uttarakhand Metro Rail Corporation and M/s Hess Green Mobility, Carosserie Hess AG and SSB Sauerwein & Schaefer Bau AG. Through this MoU, joint efforts will be made towards the development of Electric Rapid Transit System (E-RT) in the state.
The scheme will be operated on elevated corridor
It was told in the presentation that the Light Tram developed by M/s Hess AG is based on flash charging technology, which provides state-of-the-art electric mobility solutions. There is a plan to operate this system completely on the elevated corridor, so that the burden on the city traffic is reduced and people can get better transport facilities.
It will operate on these routes
Let us tell you that in the first phase of the scheme, 25 stations are proposed in two corridors of Dehradun – from ISBT to Gandhi Park and from FRI to Raipur – a total distance of 22.5 km. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed the expectation of bringing this scheme on the ground soon and said that this is a necessary and timely initiative for a permanent solution to the increasing traffic problem of Dehradun.
What is Electric Rapid Transit?
Electric Rapid Transit will be a smart electric bus service which will be as fast and comfortable as the metro, but will run on a separate track instead of the road, so that jams can be avoided and time is saved.
