Heat wave warning in 9 states, red alert in Rajasthan; mercury crosses 40 degrees in 23 districts of MP; chances of rain in 13 states

A severe heat wave has started in the north-western states of the country. Heatwave alert has been issued in 9 states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The night temperature in Rajasthan is also crossing 45 degrees. Rain is expected in 8 states of North-East and South.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heat wave alert in 9 states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat today. At the same time, there is a possibility of thunderstorm and rain in 13 states of North-East and South.
Here, in Rajasthan, nights have also started getting hot along with the day. In some cities, the night temperature has crossed 45°. On Monday, the temperature of Barmer city was recorded at 45.6 degrees Celsius, today there is a red alert of heatwave here. Apart from this, there is an orange alert for 6 districts and a yellow alert for 12 districts.
In Madhya Pradesh, the temperature has crossed 44 degrees Celsius due to hot winds on Monday. There is a heat wave alert in 8 districts including Ratlam-Neemuch today. There is a heat wave warning in Himachal today. Apart from these, there is a heat wave alert in many districts of Haryana, Delhi, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
How will the weather be in the next two days? There is no hope of relief from heat wave and heat in most parts of the country for the next two days. Temperatures will remain 3-5 degrees above normal in North-West India, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Delhi-NCR. Heat wave will continue in many places in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Western UP.
At the same time, there is a possibility of rain and hailstorm along with thunderstorms in Bihar, Jharkhand, North-Eastern states and some parts of South India. There is also a warning of lightning and strong winds in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Rain and hail may fall on 9, 10 April in hilly states like Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand.
