Uttarakhand: 200 restaurants will open on the Chardham Yatra route, women will get a new way of employment

Rural Development Minister Ganesh Joshi held a review meeting of the National Rural Livelihood Mission under the Rural Development Department at the camp office last Monday. In the meeting, detailed information was taken about the progress of the central and state government schemes run by the department.

Instructions given to promote marketing of local products
The minister instructed the officials to give priority to activities related to livelihood promotion for women of self-help groups. He said that the work being done by women groups is commendable. There is a need to provide them more opportunities. The minister, especially mentioning the upcoming Chardham Yatra, said that more and more outlets should be opened on this route to promote the marketing of local products.

200 restaurants will open on the Chardham Yatra route
The minister also instructed to start the remaining 96 outlets to be opened under the Traditional Agriculture Development Scheme as soon as possible. In this regard, he also instructed to hold a joint meeting with the officials of the Agriculture Department. He said that through these efforts, more and more women can be linked to livelihood promotion. The minister also informed that the Rural Development Department will soon open 200 new restaurants at a cost of about Rs 15 lakh for livelihood promotion of women of self-help groups on the Chardham Yatra route in Garhwal and Kumaon divisions.

So far 1.68 lakh lakhpatis have been prepared in Uttarakhand
Ganesh Joshi directed the officials to prepare a quick assessment in this regard. Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi also informed that so far 1.68 lakh lakhpati didis have been prepared in the state. He expressed confidence that moving ahead of the set target, 2 lakh lakhpati didis will be made in the state. Let us tell you that till now 14143 Almora, 9887 Uttarkashi, 12518 Dehradun, 5835 Champawat, 12910 Nainital, Haridwar 23588, Chamoli 10315, Bageshwar 6042, Pithoragarh 9208, Tehri 12663, Udham Singh Nagar 27435, Pauri 12771, Rudraprayag 6072 have become Lakhpati Didi.
