Inspired by the Chief Minister’s resolution of empowering daughters, District Magistrate Savin Basnal’s Nanda-Sunanda project is proving to be a milestone in empowering daughters. Under this project, promising daughters whose education was being hindered due to poor economic conditions and poverty, this Nanda-Sunanda project of DM Dehradun is acting as a lifesaver in giving wings to the dreams of such daughters. So far, 25 girls have been benefited under this scheme and the work of identifying and benefiting girls is progressing at a fast pace.
The District Magistrate, while encouraging the children and their families, said that education is the only biggest tool that helps in empowering us. Therefore, give your 100% to fulfill the purpose for which this project has been created. Keep the flame of education and your goals alive within you, and be determined and get involved in fulfilling your dreams. Work hard for the field you want to go in but keep studying along with it. He said that if you have the strong will to continue your studies, then Project Nanda-Sunanda will help you and in future not only this project but some project organization will help you in your studies. You have to keep the spark of your studies alive, the responsibility of funding for your further studies is ours, in future also the district administration will keep contributing for the higher education of needy daughters. He expected the daughters to continue working hard with dedication and commitment.
The Chief Development Officer said that Project Nanda-Sunanda, started on the initiative of the DM for poor girls, is empowering, educating and preparing the daughters for a secure future. He said that give information about the project to the needy daughters around you so that other needy people can also benefit from this scheme. He told the girls to continue their studies and do not worry about the fees, it will be arranged.
During this, the girls and their mothers/relatives expressed their gratitude to the District Magistrate and said that they were worried about the education of their children, but the Nanda-Sunanda scheme has helped them in their education. The girls also assured that they will not let the contribution taken for continuing their education under the Nanda-Sunanda scheme go waste and will work with full dedication and concentration to prove the purpose for which this scheme has been made.
In this series, in a program organized in the Collectorate today, cheques worth Rs 302774 were distributed to 06 girls, including Ms Anushka Bhatt (16 years) 10th amount of Rs 87350, Ms Saanvi (20 years) BCA amount of Rs 25000, Ms Himanshi (15 years) 10th amount of Rs 48400, Ms Siddhi (17 years) 11th amount of Rs 44600, Ms Nidhi (15 years) 9th amount of Rs 39100, Ms Anumehha Shah (13 years) 8th amount of Rs 58324 were given cheques.
On this occasion, Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, District Program Officer Child Development Jitendra Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer Collectorate Kapil Kumar along with concerned officers and personnel were present.
