Uttarakhand: Secretary inspected the Badrinath Yatra route, health advisory will be issued in 13 languages

The state government has started preparations on a war footing to conduct the Chardham Yatra 2025 in a smooth, safe and systematic manner. On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Secretary, Medical Health, Irrigation, Uttarakhand Government and Nodal Officer of Badrinath for Chardham Yatra, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar conducted a comprehensive inspection tour of Chamoli district on Tuesday.

Landslide prone areas were inspected on the ground

Nodal Officer Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar conducted a ground inspection of health facilities, condition of roads, parking places, landslide prone areas and registration and screening centers on the travel route from Kameda to Badrinath. The Secretary first conducted a thorough inspection of the Registration Center, Primary Health Center (PHC), Mela Maidan and Trauma Center located at Gauchar. He reviewed the stock of adequate medicines for patients in hospitals, availability of doctors and paramedical staff and cleanliness.

Medicines and medical staff should be stationed in health centers at all times

Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar gave clear instructions to the Chief Medical Officer that essential life saving medicines, equipment and medical staff should be stationed in all health centers at all times. He informed that soon dialysis machines will be made available in Chamoli so that patients can get better facilities. Along with this, he suggested that if any equipment or facility is required, then the concerned department should send proposals to the government on time, so that resources can be made available in time.

Health advisory will be issued in 13 languages

The Health Secretary informed that a total of 20 medical relief posts and 50 screening points will be set up for better screening and first aid of the pilgrims in the upcoming Yatra. Currently 3 MRPs and 5 screening points are working in the district. This time 5 new MRPs and many additional screening centers will be set up, which will be specifically for the health test and first aid of the travelers. The secretary directed that the health advisory prepared in 13 different languages ​​should be distributed mandatorily through all MRPs and screening centers. This advisory will inform the pilgrims about health risks in high altitude areas, possible diseases like COVID-19, food and necessary precautions.

Work is going on fast in landslide affected areas

During the inspection, the secretary also inspected the asphalting work in the Kameda landslide area under the National Highway. Also, the implementing agency was instructed to complete the work within 20 days. Before the Chardham Yatra in the Parthadip area of ​​​​Nandprayag, temporary treatment work and debris disposal work is being carried out on a war footing, which has been instructed to be completed within 15 days. In the Pagal Nala area of ​​​​NH-07, the secretary took detailed information of the landslide zone and directed the implementing agency to prepare a strategy for a permanent solution and send the proposal to the government. At Jogidhara, orders were given to BRO to strengthen the base of the road and complete the repair work soon.
