Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary PK Mishra and Principal Secretary Shaktikanta Das, Cabinet Secretary Dr. TV Somanathan in Delhi and apprised them of the development projects going on in the state. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and apprised him of the infrastructure development works in the border areas keeping in view the geographical conditions of the state.
In order to strengthen smooth traffic and proper connectivity in the state, the Chief Secretary met Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Railway Board Satish Kumar and Road Transport Secretary V. Umashankar and Civil Aviation Secretary Vumlunmang Vulnam and had a detailed discussion on the ongoing and proposed schemes in the state. In this, mainly Rishikesh-Karnprayag project should be started soon and other important schemes Gangotri Yamunotri Rail Project, Tanakpur Bageshwar Rail Project, Dehradun-Saharanpur Rail Project and Kichha-Khatima Rail Project were requested for early approval. Also requested to completely transfer the old Rishikesh railway station to Yoga Nagri railway station and develop Harrawala railway station of Dehradun to provide better facilities to the public and to make the traffic of cities smooth.
Requested for night landing facility at Dehradun and Pantnagar airports, Air Traffic Control (ATC) facilities at Kedarnath and Sahastradhara for safe operation of helicopters in mountainous areas and to expedite the expansion of Jolly Grant and Pantnagar airports in Dehradun, so that air services can be strengthened. For road traffic, requested for early approval on Dehradun Outer Ring Road Project Dehradun-Mussoorie and the proposed schemes of the state sent earlier.
Met with Secretary of Energy Ministry Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary of Jal Shakti Ministry Deba Mukherjee and Secretary of Telecommunication Ministry Neeraj Mittal to increase energy sources in the state and improve telecommunication. In which mainly Kishau project, Sela Urthing project, 4L towers should be installed by BSNL soon, additional towers were requested for the proposed Sharda Corridor. Along with this, he requested for representation of hydro power projects worth up to Rs. 2500 crores at the state level and prompt action on the projects.
Met Foreign Secretary (CPV) Arun Kumar Chatterjee and Secretary of Skill Development Ministry Atul Tiwari and discussed action plans to enhance the skills of the youth of Uttarakhand state and to take the skilled youth to the global platform.
Discussed external special assistance and central grants and other financial resources for the development of the state with Finance Secretary Ajay Seth, Secretary (Expenditure) Dr. Manoj Govil and apprised them of the requirements of the resources of the state. Resident Commissioner Ajay Mishra was also present on this occasion.
