District Magistrate Savin Bansal held a meeting of senior officials of Jal Sansthan and UPCL in Rishiparna Auditorium on Wednesday regarding quick solution and regular supply of drinking water and electricity problems in summer. He directed that all arrangements should be ensured for uninterrupted drinking water and electricity supply in summer.
The District Magistrate said that providing uninterrupted and safe drinking water to every citizen is the priority of the district administration. He said that the departments will get sufficient budget to maintain uninterrupted drinking water supply.
The DM gave clear instructions that there is no scope for slow response in summer drinking water tension, he instructed to compulsorily deploy one JE from each establishment of Jal Sansthan, Jal Nigam, Vidyut Smart City, UUSDA in the control room of the district for quick solution of drinking water and electricity problems in summer. The responsible officers of the departments will be roster-wise deployed from every division of drinking water along with their contingency plans and contact list and
will resolve distress calls related to drinking water and electricity problems received every day. He finalized the tanker tenders, gave strict instructions to complete the cleaning of sources.
He said that the helpline number of each division wing of Jal Sansthan, Drinking Water Corporation, Electricity should be made public again and again. DM instructed to make alternative arrangements in drinking water crisis areas, to keep additional pumps and motors on tube wells.
The District Magistrate instructed all the Superintending Engineers to identify the drinking water crisis areas and make proper arrangements for regular drinking water supply in those areas as an alternative. Adequate number of linemen, tubewell operators should be deployed to fix drinking water leakage and maintain the lines. Manpower should be increased wherever required. Said that adequate budget will also be made available to the department for this. Instructed that there should not be any problem due to manpower.
The District Magistrate said that a control room will be set up at the district level for quick solution of problems of drinking water and electricity supply. He instructed all the Superintending Engineers to keep a competent officer/personnel from all their divisions deployed in control for the summer season. Provide a detailed report to the control room immediately regarding the name of the areas facing drinking water crisis, name of AE, JE of the concerned area, filling points of tankers, drinking water line, pumping scheme, hand pump, alternative arrangement, deployment of manpower. Uninterrupted power supply should be ensured on all tube wells. Also, toll free numbers of all divisions should be publicized. So that problems related to drinking water and power supply can be resolved quickly. The District Magistrate also directed the Additional District Magistrate to hold a meeting with all the divisions and resolve ground level problems. During this, the District Magistrate reviewed in detail the work being done for regular supply in the summer season through departments like UUSDA, Jal Nigam, Jal Sansthan, ENM, DWSM, UPCL, Smart City, UPCL etc.
In the meeting, the Superintending Engineers of drinking water were informed about the information related to their division. It was told that tender has been done for water supply through tankers and installation of generators in water crisis areas. Electricity supply will be arranged by installing rented generators on tube wells. Toll free numbers have also been publicised in all divisions for resolving problems.
During this time, Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Additional District Magistrate KK Mishra, SDM Kumkum Joshi, Chief Engineer Drinking Water Corporation Nisha Sinha, Chief Engineer Water Institute Namit Ramola, Chief Engineer Praveen, Chief Engineer Rajiv Saini and Executive Engineers of all divisions were present.
