Parvez Alam took over the responsibility of Accountant General of Uttarakhand

Mohammad Parvez Alam has taken over as Accountant General (Accounts & Entitlement) in Dehradun. Alam is a 2008 batch officer of Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS) and has been assigned additional charge of the office of Accountant General (Audit) Uttarakhand until further orders.
Prior to this assignment, Alam has held key positions including Deputy Accountant General/Senior Deputy Accountant General in Bihar, Jharkhand and Manipur. He has vast experience in audit in various sectors including Indian Air Force, Ministry of Finance, Government of India etc. Prior to his appointment in Uttarakhand, he was working as Principal Director (North Eastern Region-I) in the Office of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India, New Delhi.
Alam has rich experience in public financial management, accounting and auditing. His international audit assignments include embassy audits in Bangladesh and Bahrain, financial and compliance audits of International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Hanoi and Jakarta, and compliance audits of UN Peacekeeping Operations in Lebanon and UN in New York.
Alam, a native of Bihar, has a postgraduate degree in finance and human resources. As Accountant General (A&E) of Uttarakhand, he will be responsible for compilation and preparation of finance and appropriation accounts of the state government and audit of receipts from and expenditure of the state treasury.
