The war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for the last three years. There is no peace in this war yet, and now other countries are also in danger. After a threat from Russia, questions are being raised whether Putin is planning to target Poland and the Baltic countries? Russian intelligence chief Sergei Naryshkin has openly threatened NATO that if Poland and the Baltic countries do not stop their ‘aggressive’ actions, Russia will retaliate. This statement has come at a time when Russia’s bombing in Ukraine has intensified and anger is erupting around the world.

Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergei Naryshkin met Belarus dictator Alexander Lukashenko on Tuesday. After this meeting, he said, ‘If NATO shows aggression against Russia and Belarus, Poland and the Baltic countries will be the first to suffer.’ Naryshkin accused Poland and the Baltic countries (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia) of ‘waving weapons’ and ‘provoking’. He referred to Poland’s alleged plan to lay 2 million anti-tank mines on the border between Belarus and Russia’s Kaliningrad region. Latvia’s Defense Minister Andris Spruds also said that his country is considering ‘every possible option’ to further strengthen its defense.

Trump blames Zelensky for war

Amid Russia’s threat, its bombing in Ukraine has wreaked new havoc. On Sunday, 35 people were killed and more than 100 were injured in a Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Sumy. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump created a ruckus by accusing Ukrainian President Zelensky of starting the war. Trump said, ‘You don’t start a war against a country 20 times bigger and then expect missiles.’ Trump surprised the world by calling the Sumi attack just a ‘mistake’.

‘NATO stands with Ukraine’

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte visited Odessa with Zelensky on Tuesday and promised Ukraine ‘unwavering support’. Rutte said, ‘Russia is the aggressor of this war. There is no doubt about it.’ Zelensky demanded an air defense system from NATO to avoid Russian attacks. Rutte also made it clear that NATO supports Trump’s ceasefire proposal, but will not leave Ukraine. Sweden summoned the Russian ambassador and called the Russian attacks a violation of international law.

China refused to send troops

Ukraine claimed that hundreds of Chinese citizens are fighting for Russia. Two Chinese prisoners of war warned other Chinese citizens not to join the war in a press conference. China has rejected it as ‘political manipulation and sensationalism’. Ukrainian President Zelensky had alleged that hundreds of Chinese citizens were fighting on the frontline. China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said that ‘China is investigating the information and circumstances related to this case.’

Russian military court sentenced

A Russian military court sentenced five youths to 18 years in prison for setting fire to a railway and a helicopter near Moscow last year. Russia claims that this attack took place at the behest of Ukraine’s intelligence agency GUR. GUR released a video of the helicopter catching fire, but did not take responsibility for the attack.
