Uttarakhand: Action taken against the Chief Engineer for showing indifference in the work of PMGSY in Almora and being absent from the office without informing

S.N.Singh, Chief Engineer, PMGSY Kumaon region Almora has been sent back to his original department, Irrigation Department, for showing indifference in the works of PMGSY and remaining absent from the office without informing. Chief Executive Officer URDA Himanshu Khurana has issued the order on the instructions of Secretary Rural Development. Till further orders, the Superintending Engineer, PMGSY Circle Jyolikot will take over the charge of Chief Engineer, PMGSY Kumaon region along with his own works.

This action was taken due to the Chief Engineer, PMGSY Kumaon region Almora not taking effective steps regarding the quality of works, lack of supervision, lack of effective control over subordinate personnel and slow progress in the process of compensation distribution. Complaints were being received regarding the quality of various motor roads of Kumaon region under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

Show cause notice has been issued to Vinod Kumar, Superintending Engineer, Gyanesh Chandra Upadhyay, Executive Engineer in charge and K.N. Sati Assistant Engineer, PMGSY, Irrigation Division Almora for not taking effective action on the complaints received regarding the quality of Danya Ara Salpad motor road. Show cause notice has also been issued to Meena Bhatt Executive Engineer and Sanjay Tiwari, Assistant Engineer, PMGSY PWD Division, Kathgodam for not taking effective action on the complaints received regarding the quality of “MRL 18 Kasiyalekh Budibana Soupi” motor road. All have been directed to provide satisfactory explanation within 02 days.
