Jharkhand: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s big statement on Supreme Court, ‘…then Parliament should be closed’

a
Amidst the support and opposition to the Waqf law, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has started a new debate about the judiciary and the legislature. Now BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has made a big statement about the Supreme Court on Saturday (April 19). He said that if the top court will make the law, then the Parliament House should be closed.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey said, “Only the Supreme Court is responsible for inciting religious war in the country. The Supreme Court is now going beyond its limits. If one has to go to the Supreme Court for everything, then the Parliament and the Assembly should be closed. Chief Justice of India Sanjeev Khanna is responsible for all the civil wars happening in this country.
‘The President appoints the Chief Justice’
Dubey further said, “How can you give instructions to the Appointing Authority? The President appoints the Chief Justice of India. The Parliament makes the law of this country. How did you make a new law? In which law is it written that the President has to decide within three months? This means that you want to take this country towards anarchy. When the Parliament sits, there will be a detailed discussion on this.”
This comment of Nishikant Dubey has come at a time when several petitions challenging the constitutionality of the Waqf (Amendment) Act are being heard in the apex court. The Act was passed by Parliament earlier this month. After the court raised questions on some controversial provisions of this law, the central government has agreed not to implement them till the next hearing.
Debate sparked by the statement of the Vice President
A debate has also started on the recent deadline set by the Supreme Court to take a decision on the bills sent to the President. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has disagreed with this decision of the apex court. On the other hand, opposition parties have praised the said direction of the apex court as well as the action of the Supreme Court in the Waqf (Amendment) Act case.
Nishikant Dubey strongly puts forward the BJP’s side
Dubey, MP from Godda in Jharkhand, often takes the lead in BJP’s political attacks on his rivals in the Lok Sabha and clearly puts forth the ruling party’s stand on various issues in the House.
