Uttarakhand: Dhami gave instructions to connect yoga with employment, yoga fairs and yoga based competitions will be organized on International Yoga Day

Yoga campaign should be run at the village level. Special yoga camps should be organized in schools and colleges. Essay, speech, poster and painting competitions should be organized on yoga. Along with organizing yoga and AYUSH fairs, green yoga programs should also be organized. Yoga should also be promoted through digital medium and those who bring public awareness in the field of yoga should also be honored. Along with yoga, regular cleanliness campaign should also be run with public participation. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave these instructions to the officials during the meeting of preparations for the upcoming International Yoga Day to be held on 21st June.

The Chief Minister said that yoga is not only our ancient tradition, but it is also an effective medium of balance and health in today’s lifestyle. We have to connect the youth, students, government employees and the general public with this event. All the programs to be organized on the occasion of Yoga Day should be grand, organized and done with public participation. He said that Uttarakhand is the holy land of yoga, and from here the message of yoga has gone to the whole world, so the programs here should have a special identity.

The Chief Minister said that women power should be connected to yoga to the maximum extent. Along with yoga and meditation, tree plantation campaigns should also be run. Yoga and AYUSH fairs should be organized in the districts. Yoga should also be linked to employment. The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has a distinct identity at the global level as Devbhoomi and Yoga Bhoomi. He said that yoga should also be presented in a spiritual form. Yoga programs should also be organized on a large scale in the major divine places and mountainous areas of the state. The Chief Minister has directed the AYUSH Department, Education Department, Youth Welfare Department, Tourism Department, Health Department, Information Department and District Administration to work in coordination.

Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary R. K. Sudhanshu, R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Ravinath Raman, Sachin Kurve, ADG A. P. Anshuman, Additional Secretary Vijay Jogdande and Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari were present in the meeting.
