Uttarakhand: Doctors and medical staff will take care of the devotees during the Char Dham Yatra, they have undergone special training

The Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand is starting on 30 April with the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. During the journey, cases of devotees falling ill have also been seen a lot, in such a situation, the Uttarakhand Health Department is working on special strategies in view of the upcoming Chardham Yatra. Under which special training is being given to the doctors and medical staff to be deployed on the Chardham Yatra routes. So far, training has been given by organizing training camps in Srinagar Medical College and Doon Medical College. The government hopes that after this special training, doctors and medical staff will be able to treat patients in a better way.

Uttarakhand Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar said that under this special training, doctors and medical teams are being given technical information to provide emergency medical services in possible health problems, disasters and limited resources in the high Himalayan regions. In such a situation, the medical team that has taken special training will soon be deployed on the travel routes and halts. Travelers may have difficulty in breathing, lack of oxygen, fluctuations in blood pressure, blisters on the feet and other problems in high altitude areas. In such a situation, it is important that doctors have practical experience to start immediate treatment in these circumstances.

Training camps have been organized in Srinagar and Doon Medical College. Where health officials have been given special training to serve on the Chardham Yatra route. In the special training given to doctors and medical staff, information has been given about acute mountain sickness, high altitude pulmonary edema and cerebral edema, shortness of breath, seizures, gastroenteritis, high blood pressure, cardiac emergency and stroke. Along with this, information has been given on how to provide immediate medical facility.

Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar said that many lives can be saved by timely diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. In the training, focus is also being given on all important points including safe delivery of the patient to the air ambulance, drug management, timely referral process. The first clinical skill based training camp for medical officers has been completed at the Skill Center of Government Doon Medical College Hospital. In this, medical officers serving in PHC, CHC and district hospitals were trained in diagnosis of challenges and diseases of high Himalayan regions.
