Asim Munir is a terrorist like Laden, do air strikes… Pentagon officials furious at Pakistan, called ISI like Hamas

The killing of 26 tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir has shocked the entire world. The strings of this attack are linked to Pakistan. Now former US Pentagon officer Michael Rubin has fiercely attacked Pakistan and its intelligence agency ISI. Rubin, who is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, said that the poisonous speech of Pakistan’s army chief General Asim Munir provoked this massacre. He demanded that the US declare Pakistan a ‘country that patronizes terrorism’ and Munir a ‘terrorist’. Comparing Munir with Osama bin Laden, Rubin said, ‘The only difference is that Osama lived in a cave, and Munir in a palace. But both are the same, and their fate should also be the same.’

Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir gave a provocative speech at the ‘Overseas Pakistanis Convention’ in Islamabad on 16 April. Munir had said, ‘We will never forget Kashmir.’ Munir, citing the Two-Nation Theory, termed Hindus and Muslims as ‘two different communities’. He said, ‘Our ancestors believed that we are different from Hindus in every way. Our religion, customs, traditions, thinking, everything is different.’ When Asim Munir was giving this speech, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was also present. Rubin called it a statement directly giving a ‘green signal’ to terrorism.

Pahalgam attack linked to Hamas

Michael Rubin linked the Pahalgam attack to Hamas’ attack on Israel on 7 October 2023. He said, ‘Hamas targeted Jews in Israel, especially those liberal Jews who wanted peace with Gaza. Similarly, Pakistan targeted middle class Hindu tourists in Pahalgam.’ Rubin called it Pakistan’s strategy and said that this is the same method that Hamas had adopted.

Do drone strike on Munir

Rubin demanded that ISI be declared a terrorist organization. He said, ‘The mistake of considering ISI a legitimate military organization should be abandoned. It should be considered a terrorist organization like Hamas or Iran’s Quds Force.’ He also said that just as Trump killed Qasim Suleimani in a drone attack in 2020, Prime Minister Modi has the right to ‘remove Munir permanently with a drone’. Comparing Munir to Osama bin Laden, Rubin said, ‘The only difference is that one lived in a cave, the other lives a luxurious life.’
