Aamir Khan is deeply shocked by the Pahalgam attack, did not attend the screening of ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ after 31 years

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan was recently absent from the special screening of his cult classic film ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ held in Mumbai. Rajkumar Santoshi’s film is being re-released in theatres this Friday, i.e. today, 25 April. A special screening was arranged for the cast and crew members before the re-release of the film, but Aamir decided to skip it. It is said that he did so because he is very sad about the Pahalgam terror attack.
In a conversation with Subhash K Jha, the actor told why he kept himself away from the screening of his film on its re-release. Aamir Khan said, ‘I was reading reports related to what happened in Pahalgam, Kashmir. I am very sad about the killing of innocent people. I was not in a position to go to the preview. I will watch it anytime this weekend.’

Soon after this incident, the Aamir Khan production team also expressed grief. Aamir Khan’s team, Aamir Khan Productions, shared an emotional note on Instagram which read, ‘We are deeply shocked and saddened by the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which took the lives of innocent people and caused pain and sorrow to many. Our condolences are with the victims and their families.’
It flopped badly at the box office at that time
Let us tell you that Salman Khan and Aamir Khan starrer film ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ is being re-released on 25 April. The film stars brilliant actors like Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Shahzad Khan, Paresh Rawal, Shakti Kapoor. The film was released in 1994, but flopped badly at the box office at that time, although later it joined the list of cult classic comedy films.
‘We were both sad when it did not work’
Aamir had talked about the initial failure of the film in one of his interviews. He had said, ‘Raj Santoshi and I were the only two people who believed in the film. We loved it. So, we were both sad when it didn’t work. And then it became my biggest success on home entertainment.’
