Encounter with terrorists in Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir, two soldiers injured in firing

An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday. Two security forces are reported to be injured in this encounter. Officials said that the security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Kulnar Bajipura area of Bandipora district after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the area. He said that the search operation turned into an encounter after the hidden terrorists opened fire on the security personnel. Two security forces are reported to be injured in this encounter.
Jawan martyred in Udhampur encounter
Earlier on Thursday, a soldier was martyred in the Udhampur encounter. Police said that an army jawan died during an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Udhampur district of the Union Territory on Thursday.
The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army posted on X that based on specific intelligence, a joint operation was launched with Jammu and Kashmir in Basantgarh, Udhampur today. Contact was established, and fierce firing took place. One of our bravehearts sustained serious injuries in the initial encounter and later succumbed to his injuries despite best medical efforts.

Indian Army is on high alert after the attack in Pahalgam on April 22. Multiple search operations are being carried out to neutralise the terrorists.
