Neeraj was trolled for calling Arshad Nadeem to India, now the star athlete expressed his pain

26 civilians lost their lives in the attack by terrorists in Pahalgam. After this incident, there was mourning in the whole country. The Indian government also retaliated against Pakistan and took many important decisions. Even before this attack, India’s Neeraj Chopra had invited Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem to play in the Neeraj Chopra Classic (NC Classic) Javelin tournament. But Arshad refused to play in this tournament. This tournament will start from May 24. But Neeraj had to pay a heavy price for inviting Arshad and he had to face hate messages. Now Neeraj has given his opinion on this whole issue.
Neeraj Chopra was trolled
Neeraj Chopra has posted on the social media platform X and wrote that I usually speak less, but that does not mean that I will not speak against what I think is wrong. Especially when it comes to questioning my love for our country and the honor of my family. There has been a lot of discussion about my decision to invite Arshad Nadeem to compete at the Neeraj Chopra Classic and most of it is hate and abuse. They did not even leave my family out of it. The invitation I sent to Arshad was from one athlete to another, nothing more. The NC Classic was meant to bring the best athletes to India. The invitations were sent to all the athletes on Monday, two days before the terror attack in Pahalgam. After everything that has happened in the last 48 hours, Arshad’s presence at the NC Classic was completely impossible. My country and its interests will always come first. My condolences and prayers are with those who are going through the loss of their people. Along with the entire nation, I am also hurt and angry by this incident.
People change their opinion: Neeraj Chopra
Neeraj Chopra has written that it is sad to see my integrity being questioned. I feel sad that I have to explain myself to those who are targeting me and my family without any good reason. Do not explain anything else to us. People change their opinion immediately, when my mother commented a year ago, her views were praised. Today the same people have not backed down from targeting her for the same statement. I will work hard so that the world remembers India.
Arshad had refused to participate in the tournament
Arshad Nadeem refused to play in the NC Classic Javelin Tournament saying that the tournament to be held in India is on May 24, while he will leave for Korea on May 22 for the Asian Athletics Championship. He had said that he is working hard for the Asian Championship to be held in Korea from May 27 to 31.
Has won two Olympic medals for India
Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal for India in Tokyo Olympics 2020 and the silver medal in Paris Olympics 2024. He has also won gold in the World Championship. Apart from this, he also has the title of Diamond League. He has also hoisted the tricolor in the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. His highest throw is 89.94 meters.
