Many cricketers have already condemned this cowardly terrorist attack. Now former Indian team’s legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar has also given a befitting reply to the terrorists. He expressed his anger while commentating in IPL.
What did Sunil Gavaskar say?
Sunil Gavaskar said, “I express my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the attack. This attack has affected Indians. I want to ask the attackers and those who supported them what have they gained from this fight?”
He further said, “Not even a single millimeter of land has moved in the last 78 years, nor is anything going to change in the next 78000 years. So why can’t we live in peace? This is my appeal.”
Cowardly attack on 22 April
On 22 April, terrorists killed 25 Indians and one Nepali person in Pahalgam. Since this attack, leaders from all over the world are in touch with PM Modi and are talking about taking united steps against terrorism.
French President Emmanuel Macron, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on phone on Thursday and expressed their solidarity with India on the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, Macron said during a phone conversation with Modi that the barbarity witnessed during the terrorist attack is completely unacceptable.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also spoke to Modi and expressed condolences to the victim families. Ishiba said in a phone conversation with Modi that terrorism cannot be justified.
Jaiswal said, “Both the leaders stressed that terrorism is a serious threat to humanity. Those who believe in democracy should unite in the fight against terrorism.” He said Modi “shared information about cross-border terrorist attacks and expressed India’s resolve to deal with it firmly and decisively.”
