Chardham Yatra: Additional police deployed on Chamoli’s travel routes, CCTV cameras will be used for monitoring, parking facility at 31 places

After the Pahalgam terror attack, security arrangements have been increased at pilgrimage sites and crowded places across the country. In this sequence, the district administration as well as the police administration have made strong security arrangements for the preparations of the Badrinath Dham and Hemkund Sahib Yatra. While additional police force has been deployed on the Yatra route in the district, the police has arranged for monitoring with CCTV cameras at 158 ​​places on the Yatra route this year. At the same time, the police has also made arrangements for inspection at the places entering the district.

Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar said that, dividing the Badrinath Yatra route into 19 sectors, sector in-charges have been appointed. They will monitor the Yatra route through bikes. Along with this, parking arrangements for vehicles have been made in Gauchar, Langasu, Pipalkoti and Govindghat to deal with any adverse situation. Along with this, parking arrangements for a limited number of vehicles have been made at Gauchar, Karnaprayag, Nandprayag, Chamoli, Pipalkoti, Joshimath and other 31 places on the Yatra route.

NDRF SDRF teams will be deployed

For smooth traffic movement in Chamoli, 4 SDRF, 2 NDRF and 4 DDRF teams have been deployed along with police officers and jawans for the security of the pilgrims. At the same time, 2 water police teams have also been deployed on the Yatra route. Along with this, 121 outdoor CCTV cameras have been installed in the entire district in view of the Yatra. At the same time, 93 CCTV cameras have been installed on the Badrinath Yatra route till date. While work is being done to install 65 other cameras.

Drone camera team deployed in Badrinath and Gauchar

Along with the deployment of police personnel for security and smooth traffic system at 9 landslide areas identified by the administration in the district, 18 CCTV cameras have been installed. Through which the landslide zone will be continuously monitored during the journey. At the same time, to keep the traffic system smooth, drone camera teams have been deployed in Badrinath and Gauchar. Through which the traffic will be monitored. Let us tell you that the doors of Bhu Baikunth Badrinath Dham will open on May 4 and the doors of Hemkund Sahib will open on May 25.
