Chardham Yatra: Control room set up in Dehradun, helpline number and QR code issued for travellers

To make the Chardham Yatra starting from April 30 safe, organized and smooth, IG Garhwal Range held a briefing with police officials. IG Garhwal held a briefing through video conferencing with all SSPs, SPs and Assistant Nodal Officers of the range including the Police Headquarters, as well as all Inspectors Traffic, Police Station and Outpost Incharges posted on duty in the Yatra route. A control room has been set up in Dehradun for the Chardham Yatra. For the smooth running of the Chardham Yatra, 2 helpline numbers 9897846203 and 0135-2714484 have been issued for the convenience of the passengers. Apart from this, 12 desks have been set up in the control room.

Apart from this, a QR CODE (https://chardhamyatra.svinfotechsoftwaresolutions.com/) has been created for the convenience of the passengers in the Chardham Yatra. In which passengers can easily get information related to parking, traffic plan, tourist/heli registration and halting points etc. For the convenience of the passengers, it will also be made in 14 languages. Also, a help book was issued. In which all the employees engaged on the Chardham Yatra route will get help in providing correct information to the passengers through mutual coordination. Through which the devotees coming to Chardham Yatra can complete their journey safely.
- During the briefing, IG Garhwal gave guidelines to all SSPs and SPs to complete the Chardham Yatra safely.
- All preparations related to the Yatra should be completed in any case before the opening of the gates. So that the devotees do not face any kind of inconvenience and the journey can be smooth and safe.
- Intensive monitoring will be done through drones for security and crowd management on the entire Yatra route.
- Instructions were given to the concerned to prepare the accommodation and other basic facilities for the additional police force coming from the district and outside in the Chardhams.
- During the Yatra period, all the police station in-charges will actively roam in their respective police station areas and keep taking stock of the arrangements.
- Before the start of the Yatra, all the police station in-charges were instructed to organize coordination meetings with the trade unions, taxi unions and hoteliers of their police station area. So that there is better coordination during the Yatra.
- The social media monitoring cell established at the district level was directed to keep a special vigilant eye on social media during the Yatra and to take prompt action on any kind of rumour or misleading information.
