Uttarakhand: Fake juice manufacturing factory busted, large quantity of dangerous chemicals recovered

On receiving a complaint of illegal juice pouch manufacturing in a residential area of Gaujajali area, a surprise inspection was conducted under the leadership of Haldwani SDM Rahul Shah and Municipal Commissioner Richa Singh.
During the inspection, it was found that Meerut resident Mohammad Rashid had set up a completely illegal juice pouch manufacturing unit at the said place.
During the inspection, detergent and other chemicals were being used, and food safety license was not found on the spot. No valid permission letter was found for operation, domestic water and electricity connection was found to be used commercially. No proof of purchase-sale bill record was also found.
After inspection, the premises were immediately sealed and production was stopped. Samples of all products were taken under the Food Safety Act. The process of registering a case on the charge of illegal production has been started. Necessary instructions were issued for police verification.
During the inspection, Tehsildar Manisha Bisht, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Ganesh Bhatt, Chief Sanitation Inspector Amol Aswal, Food Safety Officer Kailash Tamta etc. were present.
