Uttarakhand: Mahendra Bhatt held a press conference, accused Congress of affecting the Char Dham Yatra

BJP has called the Congress’ Save Constitution rally on the day of the start of the Char Dham Yatra, anti-state and an attitude that creates obstacles in holy works. State President and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Mahendra Bhatt said that Congress raising this issue is like a cat going to Haj after eating a hundred rats. Therefore, if they have even a little morality left, then in the interest of the state and the country, they should cancel this program and come forward to support the Yatra. He raised many serious questions on the timing and propriety of the Congress campaign and said that everyone knows that the Char Dham Yatra serves as the economic backbone of Uttarakhand. Therefore, when this holy Yatra is starting from tomorrow, the main opposition party’s political program makes their negative attitude clear. The Congress party does not want the development of the state to continue and the fame of its Devbhoomi image to increase. Therefore, they want to organize this program to create obstacles in the efforts of the administration and the common people engaged in the Yatra arrangements. Last year also, Congress had done many similar political tricks to affect the Yatra. Which should continue till the last days of the Yatra in the form of Kedarnath Pratishtha Yatra.

He said that this effort of Congress becomes even more sad and unfortunate that all this is being done at a time when the country is in grief and anger due to the Pahalgam attack. It is preparing to give a befitting reply to the enemies under the leadership of PM Modi. But the negative politics of Congress continues non-stop.

He urged the leaders of the Congress party that if they have even a little morality left in them, then they should postpone their political programs in the interest of the state in view of the Yatra. It would be better if their workers also come forward to cooperate in the Yatra management and help the pilgrims.

He said that today under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi, India is moving unitedly towards becoming a rapidly developed nation. At the same time, due to their negative attitude, the Congress party and its allies are seeing their political future slipping towards zero. This is the reason why they are constantly carrying forward the politics of spreading confusion and lies in the country in frustration and despair. The proposed Save Constitution Yatra of the Congress party is also a part of this conspiracy to mislead the country and society, create an anarchic atmosphere and weaken the confidence of the people. Freedom of expression gives every party an opportunity to put forth its views.

He questioned the legitimacy of this movement of the Congress and said, the most surprising thing is that the party whose hands are stained with the blood of democracy and the Constitution is claiming to save the Constitution. If there is any darkest chapter in the democratic history of the country, it is the Emergency, whose creator is none other than the Congress Party. The country saw how the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, seeing her throne shaken by the decision of the High Court, imposed the Emergency by holding the country’s democracy hostage. She tried to strangle the Parliament, the judiciary, the executive and journalism.

At the same time, the misuse of Section 356 was cited as the second biggest example of crushing the Constitution by the Congress. He said, the Congress has been using this Section 356 like a toy. It has been used repeatedly for its political benefit. This section has been used 124 times in the country so far, in which the Congress Party alone and the governments run with their support misused it 102 times to suppress the elected governments. At the same time, it has a long and tainted history of weakening the Constitution by tampering with it.

During the Emergency, the Congress had also increased the term of Parliament from five to six years and a proposal was brought to amend the Constitution in which Indira Gandhi was made the Prime Minister for life and the judiciary was proposed to work with the policies of the government.

While tampering with the original preamble of the Constitution, words like socialist, secular were added to it. Going against the Constitution, the sin of showing Jammu and Kashmir as separate from the country was committed by implementing 370. This feeling of two constitutions, two laws and two flags in one country kept Kashmir in the furnace of terror.

He said comparatively, we used the majority to free Muslim women from the curse of triple talaq and the mafiagiri of the Waqf Board. But Congress misused the two-third majority given to Rajiv Gandhi to change the decision of the Supreme Court to do injustice to the victimized elderly woman Shahbano. The public opinion of crores of people was insulted by forming a National Advisory Council under the chairmanship of Sonia Gandhi to control the PM and the PMO. The whole world saw how the government is run by remote control even in a democracy. Sonia Gandhi used to supersede the PM in an unconstitutional manner in meetings and interactions with important high-level foreign leaders and diplomats.

He quipped that Rahul Gandhi talks about saving the Constitution while he publicly insulted the constitutional system by tearing the ordinances of his own government. Many Presidents and Vice Presidents were publicly insulted by their leaders. These are the people who talk about a separate law for the Gandhi family of their party.

Congress will talk about saving the Constitution, while they opposed the Modi government’s announcement to celebrate Constitution Day in honor of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and the Constitution. Not only this, they also opposed Baba Saheb’s 125th birth anniversary. These are the people who raise the most irresponsible questions on the dignity and impartiality of constitutional institutions. They blame the EVM machine for the defeat in elections. They accuse EVMs of tampering and when the Election Commission challenged the political parties to prove it, no one turns up.

Rahul Gandhi is still on a journey to defame constitutional institutions and tarnish the country’s image in the country and abroad. Recently, everyone has seen the false allegations on the election process at the American Brown University.

Bhatt said that the real motive of the Congress is to weaken people’s faith in constitutional institutions by spreading confusion and laxity on the working of the judiciary and the Election Commission. Similarly, there is no top investigation agency like CAG, ED, CBI on which false allegations have not been made by Congress leaders. The most objectionable thing is that Congress did not spare even the army for political opposition.

During this period, he also mentioned the important events that were done by the Congress governments against the constitutional institutions. In the sequence of which, he said, in 1949, the Congress government committed the sin of separating Jammu and Kashmir from the mainstream of the country by implementing Article 370. In 1954, against the basic spirit of the Constitution, they brought the Waqf Act to please the Muslim vote bank. In 2013, they amended it and committed the sin of giving unlimited rights. In 1975, the country was thrown into the fire of emergency against the decision of the High Court. Under which, the fundamental rights of the people in the country were abolished and the freedom of the press was banned and the leaders of the opposition were put in jail. During the emergency, the Congress governments made such amendments that if implemented today, democracy would have no meaning. Like increasing the tenure of MPs from 5 years to 6 years, keeping Indira Gandhi as the Prime Minister for life, stopping the right to judicial review. In 1977, the Congress government changed the basic structure of the Constitution by the 42nd amendment, by adding the words socialism and secularism in the preamble of the Constitution. If we talk about the tenure of Rajiv Gandhi government, in 1985, to prevent an elderly Muslim woman from getting her rights, Congress party misused its overwhelming majority and overturned the decision of the Supreme Court through constitutional amendment. In 1988, anti-defamation law was introduced to curb the freedom of press, but it was withdrawn due to opposition. Now if we talk about the tenure of Manmohan government, then through the Waqf Amendment 2013, they completely transformed the Waqf Board into a land mafia board. An advisory committee was formed to control Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi was appointed to it as super PM, which was a decision to insult Indian democracy. Congress party has a long history of insulting the constitution and constitutional posts and institutions, under which they did not spare even the President and Vice President sitting on top posts. In 1951, the then President Rajendra Prasad was prevented from attending the inauguration of Somnath temple, in 2006 APJ Abdul Kalam was called back from his foreign tour and made to sign the ordinance, the then Leader of Opposition Adhiranjan Chaudhary used abusive language against the current President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu.
