Expressing his resolve to establish Uttarakhand as a defense production hub, CM Dhami said that our government is seriously working towards making Uttarakhand a leader in the field of drone and defense manufacturing by trying to create an inclination towards technology among the youth as well as by taking the youth forward in the field of innovation.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the “Surya Drone Tech 2025” program organized at Jaswant Ground, Dehradun Cantonment and observed the drone exhibition.
This two-day exhibition (April 29-30, 2025) organized by the Central Command of the Indian Army in collaboration with the Society of Indian Defense Manufacturers (SIDM) is showcasing the state-of-the-art drone technologies developed in the country, which are in line with the multifaceted military requirements and inspired by the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” campaign.
During this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that in a geographically sensitive state like Uttarakhand, drone technology is proving to be a boon for disaster relief operations. Therefore, it is the endeavour of our government that our youth should not only become drone experts but also develop technology-based solutions for civilian use.
The Chief Minister said that special priority has been given to defense production and tech innovation in our new industrial policies. Surya Drone Tech 2025 is a confluence of science, technology and talent.
Such events not only provide a unique platform for showcasing modern technological achievements, but also inspire our youth to innovate in the field of drones and technology. It is also a concrete step towards establishing Uttarakhand as a drone manufacturing hub.
The Chief Minister said that the diversity in drone technology is a living proof of India’s self-reliant technological capabilities. It is proud to see that India is now not only becoming self-reliant in the defense sector, but is also playing a leading role in technological innovation. Drone technology today is bringing revolutionary changes in every field from security to education, disaster management, agriculture.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that today under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, innovation in drone technology and military sector is being continuously encouraged in India. Understanding the importance of innovation in the military sector, our government is also working committedly to promote defense production in Uttarakhand.
All the members of Central Command and Society of Indian Defense Manufacturers, drone experts, startups, MSME’S, NCC cadets and school students were present in this program of ‘Surya Drone Tech-2025’.
