Uttarakhand: Unemployed stuck after installing solar in the mountains? No subsidy received even after four years!

a
Many youths of the state who installed solar plants on the barren lands of the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand under the Central Industrial Development Scheme and the state’s MSME policy are stuck. Even after four years of setting up the plant, due to not getting subsidy, they are facing the threat of bank corruption.
Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Agency had allotted 250 MW solar plants through tender. It was mentioned in it that the solar plant installed under the scheme will be given subsidy under the Central Industrial Development Scheme or the state’s MSME policy.
After the plant was installed, about 150 people applied for subsidy under the central scheme. But the central government closed the scheme midway. Investors could not apply for the state subsidy. Due to which they have been deprived of subsidy from both the state and the center.
Director General of Industries wrote a letter to the government
After the problem of solar investors came to light, Director General of Industries Prateek Jain has written a letter to the government in this regard and requested for guidelines. But even after a long time, no action has been taken from the government level in this regard. In such a situation, a letter has been written by the Akshay Urja Association to Chief Minister Dhami, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Secretary in this regard.
More grant was to be given in central subsidy
Manish Singh, General Secretary of Akshay Urja Association, said that under the Center’s Industrial Development Scheme, there was a subsidy of 30 percent of the project or maximum five crores on investment. Whereas under the state policy, there was a rule of subsidy of up to 40 percent of the project or maximum 40 lakhs. In such a situation, people chose the subsidy of the Center, but due to the closure of the scheme, now the youth are facing difficulties.
