Strong land law implemented in Uttarakhand, Raj Bhavan approved, land purchase banned in 11 districts, Dhami said- changing demography in the state will be banned

There is big news for Uttarakhand. The Governor has put his seal on the Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Destruction and Land Settlement Act, 1950) (Amendment) Bill, 2025. After the approval of the Governor, a strong land law has come into force in Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself gave this information by posting on X.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami posted on X and wrote that with the Governor’s approval on the Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Destruction and Land Settlement Act, 1950) (Amendment) Bill, 2025 passed by the Assembly for land management and land management and reform in Devbhoomi, a strong land law has come into force in the state.

CM Dhami further wrote that with this, in accordance with the public sentiment of the people of the state, the uncontrolled sale of agricultural and garden land in Uttarakhand has been completely banned. Also, for needs like residential, education, hospital, hotel, industry, people of other states will be able to get land in Uttarakhand as per the standards set only after going through the prescribed process. The implementation of strict land law will prevent attempts to change the demography in the state.

Apart from this, CM Dhami said that continuous action is also being taken against those who violate the land law. Many thanks to His Excellency the Governor for approving the strict land law to strengthen the cultural, social identity of the state.

Let us tell you that in the recent budget session in Uttarakhand, the Dhami government of Uttarakhand passed the Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Destruction and Land System Act 1950) Amendment Act 2025 in the Assembly, claiming a strict land law. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while placing this proposal in the House, claimed that after the introduction of this law, the purchase and sale of land in Uttarakhand will be curbed.
