A workshop on Uniform Civil Code was organized in the auditorium of Dev Sanskriti University on Saturday under the joint aegis of the university and the Uttarakhand government. In which Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Higher Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat were present as the chief guests.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami said that the promise he had made to the people regarding the implementation of UCC in Uttarakhand has been fulfilled today. UCC has given strength to end the evils in the form of women empowerment and the delay in the judicial process will now be easy. He said that some people are spreading the misconception that this will get the Domicile Certificate, this is not possible. Apart from this, Chief Minister Dhami welcomed the decision of the Central Government to conduct caste census and said that this decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a historic decision.

At the same time, on the statement of Mohammad Yunus’s close aide regarding China’s occupation of the northeastern states, the Chief Minister said that today’s India is ‘Sashakt Bharat’. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is getting the support of the whole world in fighting against terrorism. In such a situation, no country is going to make such a mistake. On the ban on the entry of non-Muslims in Devbhoomi, the Chief Minister said that the verification campaign will continue in Uttarakhand. So that any suspect can be identified in time.

How much impact will the Pahalgam incident have on Chardham? Regarding this, Chief Minister Dhami said that the priority of the government is security for which all provisions have been made. People are coming in large numbers. Chardham Yatra has started from 30 April. The journey is going on continuously. The doors of Baba Kedar opened on 2 May. More than 30 thousand pilgrims have visited Baba. The doors of Badrinath are going to open on 4 May. This time the journey will be bigger than in previous years. Therefore, all arrangements have been made so that there is no inconvenience in the journey.
