Uttarakhand: Gopeshwar police station arrested the accused in the case of raping and impregnating a minor

On 26.04.2025, the plaintiff gave a complaint at Gopeshwar police station that her minor daughter was complaining of stomach ache for a long time. When she was brought to the hospital for routine checkup, the doctor told that she was 6 months pregnant on the basis of ultrasound etc. On interrogation, she named the accused Nitin alias Nikku son Prakash resident of village Lassi police station and district Chamoli age 21 years and told him to be involved in the incident.

On the complaint of the plaintiff, a case crime number 12/25 under section 65 B.N.S.V and 5/6 POCSO Act was registered at Gopeshwar police station and the investigation was handed over to the woman sub-inspector.

Since the case was of serious nature related to the minor victim, a team was immediately formed by the Gopeshwar police station for the arrest of the accused. The accused Nitin was arrested by the formed team from the Gopeshwar police station area on the basis of sufficient evidence in the case, who is being produced before the honorable court today after medical examination.
