Uttarakhand: Dhami inaugurated 5 mobile medical units, will provide services in remote areas of Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Tehri districts

Taking a significant initiative towards improving healthcare services in remote areas of the country, five fully equipped Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) have been launched. Its aim is to ensure the availability of essential healthcare services in the remote areas of the state.
The scheme was launched by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday at the Chief Minister’s residence complex. He described this initiative as an effective effort to overcome the lack of healthcare facilities in rural areas. These MMUs, which operate six days a week, are equipped with necessary diagnostic and treatment facilities in line with the government’s ‘Healthy Uttarakhand, Prosperous Uttarakhand’ mission. These 5 MMUs will definitely be helpful in providing primary healthcare services in remote areas of the state.
These MMUs will be operated by CSC (Common Service Center) and funded by REC (Rural Electrification Corporation) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. Initially, these units will operate for a period of three years, 2 in Haridwar, 2 in Udham Singh Nagar and 1 in Tehri Garhwal.
One of these five MMUs is also a dedicated women mobile medical unit, in which all female health care personnel are active. It has been specially designed to meet the specific health needs of women in deprived areas.
On this occasion, Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Secretary Health Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Director Health Dr. Sunita Tamta, D. S. N. Murthy, MD Dhanush Health Care, Subhash Chandra Deputy General Manager P.N.B., MD Panacea Hospital Dehradun Ashwini, CSC State Head Deepak etc. were present.
