Sports Minister Rekha Arya on Thursday inaugurated the newly built mini stadium at Dussehra Ground in Premnagar, Dehradun. The construction of the mini stadium cost about Rs 292 lakh.

Sports Minister Rekha Arya said in her address on this occasion that earlier the people of the state used to demand from their representatives to build roads, electricity, drinking water, hospitals and schools. But now the awareness towards sports in the state has increased so much that now even more demand has started coming for building playgrounds and stadiums.
Uttarakhand is becoming a part of sports culture: Minister
Rekha Arya said that for the last few years, the state is becoming a part of sports culture. In this, the continuous start of sports grounds and mini stadium facilities in small towns and cities has also helped. The minister said that the government has started giving financial help to players aged 8 to 14 years and players aged 14 to 23 years by running two player incentive schemes, due to which new players are emerging in every sport.
