Uttarakhand: CM Dhami met Union Ministers Gadkari and Bhupendra Yadav on Delhi tour, sought this gift for the state

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is on a visit to Delhi. During this, on Thursday, May 8, CM Dhami met Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Union Forest and Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav. During the meeting with both the ministers, CM Dhami discussed some major schemes of the state.

CM Dhami has requested Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to make the roads capable of bearing the pressure in view of the increasing number of devotees on Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra. He has said that it is very important to increase the traffic capacity of all the roads. The number of devotees is continuously increasing in the state.

Not only this, Chief Minister Dhami also requested Nitin Gadkari to approve the Rishikesh bypass project, besides approving the 33 km long road from Biharigarh to Roshanabad as a national highway. Along with this, CM Dhami also urged to approve the proposed elevated road on Bindal and Rispana rivers as a loop of NH-7 to solve the problem of traffic jam in Dehradun city.

Discussion on these proposals

Along with the construction of ring road in Khatima, he also requested to approve the revised cost of ₹ 371.84 crore for the construction of the proposed bypass road after re-alignment of NH-109 affected by the expansion of Pantnagar Airport and to provide additional assistance of ₹ 110 crore for the proposed metro corridor on NH-07.

Along with this, CM Dhami requested Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav to give early approval for the transfer of 47.547 hectares of forest land and revenue land (barren land) required for the construction of the proposed 72 MW capacity Tyuni-Plasu hydroelectric project on Tons.

Requested for early approval of the proposal for environmental clearance required for the 120 MW capacity project of Gauri Ganga and transfer of 29.997 hectares of forest land.

On this occasion, CM Dhami said that in view of the strategic importance and national interest, it would be beneficial to construct these hydroelectric projects of the state. He also requested to approve the proposal of ropeway development from Triveni Ghat to Neelkanth Mahadev Temple in Rishikesh in the meeting of National Wildlife Board. He also requested the support of the Central Government for the revival of the world famous Chaurasi Kutiya (Beatles Ashram) of Rishikesh.
